- ISVI was founded in 1990 thanks to the initiative of Giuseppe Crosti
- Giuseppe Crosti and Alberto Falck, both active members of UCID Milan, conceived ISVI
- as a secular instrument of penetration in the world of business where UCID could not enter
- in strict accordance with Assolombarda (the leading association of companies located in Milan and hinterland), one of the founding partner of ISVI
- in close collaboration with Bocconi University of Milan (another founding partner) and Catholic University with which, although it didn’t become a member of ISVI, ISVI has established a fruitful collaboration
